My Platform

RAISING THE QUALITY OF LIFE

I want to be the voice for all of my constituents in the Florida State House. My platform is based on recent survey results, sampling a third of our voters across all party lines.

The Economy

I’m concerned about rising poverty, high living costs, and too many low-wage jobs in our community, and I’m committed to working with local and state leaders to lower costs, create better-paying jobs, and build a stronger future for House District 33.

Nearly 49 percent of Brevard County residents are living paycheck to paycheck. In House District 33, more families are living in poverty than just one year ago. That is not acceptable.

Utilities here cost about 17 percent more than the average. Vehicle and home insurance costs are 23 to 35 percent higher, with no clear end in sight. Per capita, Florida ranks near the top nationally in car loan debt and within the top ten for credit card debt.

Tallahassee has a problem, and ignoring it is not an option.

We must reduce the cost of insurance and utilities and attract businesses that pay living wages. That means reexamining corporate priorities so workers are compensated fairly, not just shareholders. Right now, our job market reflects a troubling gap, too many low wage jobs, some high paying jobs, and very little in between.

We need intentional economic development that plans for the future. We should think boldly about what House District 33 can become, a place that attracts good paying jobs, young professionals, and families because we have the space, the water, and the vision to invest in quality of life. That could mean a new golf course, cultural centers, recreational opportunities, or community driven development that makes people want to build their lives here.

Education

We must let teachers teach, pay them what they deserve, and demand real accountability across all public education options — our children’s future depends on it.

Let teachers teach.

Let administrators manage with the guidance of a fiscally responsible, ethical, and accountable school board.

Florida must move teacher pay far beyond where it stands today. Dead last is not just embarrassing, it is damaging to our future. Competitive pay is essential if we want to retain quality educators and give our children the education they deserve.

We also must hold alternative public education systems accountable, not based on dollars alone, but on outcomes that actually make sense for students and families.

The Environment

With a background in sustainability, I’m committed to balancing people, planet, and prosperity through smart development that protects our shoreline, supports transit and green spaces, and plans for the future.

The environment is always at the top of my priorities.

I earned a Master of Science with a concentration in Sustainability because I believe deeply in balance, people, planet, and prosperity. We do not have to choose between economic growth and environmental stewardship. We can, and must, do both.

Green urban planning is achievable. That means strategic development that supports walkable communities, responsible mass transit, and public spaces for recreation and reflection. It also means asking our city engineers and planners to think long term, not just project to project.

We have an obligation to protect and cherish one of our greatest assets, the water that lines more than 70 miles of our shoreline. Responsible development must never lose sight of that responsibility.

The Constitution

Integrity and Accountability

I will lead with integrity by defending the Constitution, speaking truthfully, and ensuring the law is applied fairly and consistently.

Integrity matters.

The law must be followed as written in our federal, state, and local constitutions. No one is above it, and there must be consequences when it is ignored.

We must communicate truth, not fiction. Facts, not fear.

This applies across the board, including laws governing speech, firearms, civil rights, immigration, labor protections, and more. We are a nation governed by the rule of law, and that principle must be defended consistently.

Our Social Conscience

A society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable — I will defend equal rights and the essential services people depend on to live with dignity.

At the heart of this platform is a simple belief: human dignity matters.

Human rights include freedom of speech, language, belief, identity, who you love, women’s rights, and respect for people with physical or mental challenges. I believe all people are created equal.

I also believe we have a moral obligation to provide robust support systems wherever we have the power to act, because dignity requires more than words — it requires action.

A society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable. On that point, I am unwavering.

Hard stop.
